Every Level has a given, predetermined difficulty that defines roughly how hard it should be. Each is progressively harder than the previous, and is ordered as follows:
- Hexagon: Hard
- Hexagoner: Harder
- Hexagonest: Hardest
- Hyper Hexagon: Hardester
- Hyper Hexagoner: Hardestest
- Hyper Hexagonest: Hardestestest
Given difficulties are much less significant in Open Hexagon, with some Levels not being given descriptors at all. However, the difficulty multiplier of most Levels can be increased to certain values to make them easier or harder. As of Open Hexagon V2.0, most Levels enable Swap as well as disabling the Level Increment if the difficulty is sufficiently high (usually at the highest value possible).
Levels have independent high score tables for each difficulty.
